Sport Climbing Weekend

Been out climbing a few times and psyched to take it to the next level? Our Sport Climbing course is designed to improve your skills and confidence as fast as possible during the two days of intense climbing. Some previous rock climbing experience required. Participants should be comfortable belaying top rope climbs and have a basic understanding of efficient climbing movement, please call or e-mail if you are unsure about your preparedness for this course.

For those with no previous climbing experience, this course is sometimes scheduled immediately after our Intro Rock Weekends or Top-rope and Anchor Building Courses.

Agenda

Arrive in the morning and meet your guide and fellow participants. The first day will be spent reviewing basic knots, belays, anchors, and climbing skills while out climbing at one of our great venues with an introduction to lead climbing techniques. Day two will be spent getting you leading sport routes and learning the more advanced ropework and climbing skills neccessary to safely enjoy these routes. Some time will also be spent on climbing movement and technique. At the end of the 2 days participants will be given a formal debrief on their progress and some recommendations for continued development of their new skills.

Instructors

Instructors of these courses are expert rock climbers and ACMG guides who have vast experience and knowledge in the mountain environment. They have many years experience helping new climbers learn the skills needed to enjoy this great sport.
